These studies are directed especially for Ukrainian refugees as a part of a project funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The studies are free of charge and include mainly distance learning, but we will arrange two days on-site teaching at HAMK's campus in Hämeenlinna. The studies are carried out in English.
- Food Safety, Quality and Security, 15 ECTS, 28.10-20.12.2024 After completing this module, you will: have microbiological and hygienic knowledge needed in food processing, storage and the transport of food and food-by-products know about food quality monitoring; and know the risk assessment model according to the HACCP procedure and quality and product safety standards.
- Dairy Processing, 15 ECTS, 13.1.-14.3.2025 After completing this module, you will: ⚫ have an overall understanding of the most common milk processing processes; and know the special properties and processability of milk as raw material. 4-6 on-site days. The purpose of the training is to strengthen the Ukrainians' readiness for the reconstruction of their country and thereby partly respond to the crisis caused by the Russian war of aggression. Within the framework of the project, training is offered to Ukrainians seeking temporary protection. The project also contributes to the supply of Finnish foreign labor in Finland and security of supply in primary pro- duction, processing of dairy products and food processing. The training unit focuses on the basic knowledge and skills needed in the field. The goal is to improve participants' skills to work in the food industry. As the name suggests, the training focuses on the safe handling of food raw materials, production hygiene, and issues related to ensuring product safety, as well as teaching the basic processes used in the processing of dairy products.
